Smart Sights

Archery sight marks from watch, tape, card or phone.

What is Smart Sights?

Smart Sights is an app that runs on watch with phone, or phone by itself. After setup with known sight marks it can calculate marks for any distance, using an angle if needed. Here's a demo video of using the Wear OS watch app.

It can provide a mark with angle cut, or use default angle, without putting the bow down. It can also make a sight tape or a card with marks and cuts for IFAA courses.

Why use Smart Sights?

Enjoy shooting knowing that your sight marks are accurate and correctly adjusted for any angle. Use Smart Sights in a format that suits your style: from smart watch, from phone, from a sight tape or a marks card, or a combination that works best.

  • Precise marks fitted to your arrow flight. Smart Sights runs a mathematical algorithm to calibrate its physics model to your shooting, but takes the marks you give it as a fixed. Add as many marks as you need to calibrate. Smart Sights models factors such as your height, the height of the target being shot at, position of any peg relative to the archer.

  • Convenient access from phone or smart watch, as well as printable tape or card. Apple Watch version includes fast lookup for standard IFAA distances.

  • It can hold different marks for different limbs or bow configurations (or even different weather) and change in seconds.

  • Angle cut calculator. This has been tested - with good results - for long and short distances, steep angles. Angle can be measured using inclinometer on Apple Watch or phone.

  • Permanent unlock for one off charge.

Getting Started

Download SmartSights, it is available for trial use free.

Click Here for Smart Sights for Android/Wear OS.

Click Here for Smart Sights for iPhone/AppleWatch.

Go to the Dimensions screen via the menu or icon. Enter the required data. Press the labels for help. Then go to the Setup Screen. Enter the distance and mark you have established for at least 2 distances. Smart Sights will work best if you enter the longest and shortest distances you shoot and some marks in between. Press Calculate to calibrate the physics model to your data.

Now the Get Mark screen can be used to get a sight mark for a distance, and optionally specify an angle, (If no angle it will assume you are shooting on flat ground.) The app can be installed to a Wear OS or Apple watch and used from there, or a sight tape or distance table card created (press on the configuration in the Configuration screen) for pop up menu options.

See the Screens part of this website for more information on using Smart Sights.
